ROUND ONE OF SIXFOLD LEAGUE NOW COMMENCES
This round will be treated like a qualifier. We want you to show us what you can do, but don't go absolutely all out right at the start! A certain number of contestants (depending on how many participate in this round) will move on to Round Two.
ROUND GOALS
In this round, your contestants will be having a ONE ON ONE BATTLE WITH YOUR FACTION'S ASSISTANT. You must show your character winning for your character to advance. Though the definition of "winning" is up to you! As long as it's clear (a draw would also be considered a victory). No switching Pokemon mid battle. You must pick one Pokemon and stick to it throughout the whole battle*.
*Note on the turn-based style fighting: it is like the games, but not exactly. Basically it just means taking turns, but you are more than welcome to mix it up as well. We won't penalize you for it.

Number one! Did you guys know we got a daycare and nursery? For the baby Pokémon. And occasionally baby humans. Not many students get knocked up, I should say, but whatever. We got it if we need it. Well, it's kinda fallen into disarray. It looks more like a prison than a nursery! So we've set aside a budget for you guys to go spruce it up, make it actually look inviting to the little ones! Announcement from Epicent City: The Tournament!Hello, and welcome to the Saros region! My name is Professor Ivory, but most people respectfully refer to me as the Pokemon Professor. Now I’m sure you won’t need me to explain the world of Pokemon, as you’ve likely known it for most of your life! So instead, allow me to introduce you to the land I and my friends call home.
The region of Saros divides into six distinct provinces noted by their strongly varying climates. The pokemon vary between all 6 regions, seeming to culminate by their various types. And as the pokemon vary, so do the people who live alongside them! Within the regions, there are 6 guilds which are the center of power and influence among the people of each region! The 6 trainers who lead them have known each other since youth, and the guilds still carry such bonds.
In the center of the land is a bustling urban center known as Epicent City! It is here where I conduct my studies, on the 17 types of pokemon and how they adapt and interact with each

Event 1: The Sixfold BallGood day. Lady Lyra Nightingale of Lochesh speaking. I am here to announce the annual event: the Sixfold Ball. The ball takes place before the tournament begins so the people new to the region of Saros or the faction you have joined may converse with one another as well as the leaders and assistants of the factions. Perhaps you may form lasting bonds: whether friendly or not.
The Ball starts at 7 o'clock so don't be late. It will be held in the grand ballroom in my Manor which has plenty of space for you and at least one of your Pokemon, if you so choose. Just be sure to clean up after it or you might just get a surprise visit from a Gengar or two. Feel free to wander the garden outside the ballroom as well.
Due to the nature of the surrounding area, all Ball attendees will stay at the Manor overnight and leave in the morning. Do not leave the Manor grounds after 11 o'clock or you may not ever come back.
And remember: formal attire only. Dates are not required but are recommended.

Good on you for choosing Corus! Seriously, it's pretty much the best region. No joke. Let me give you the run down; Corus is pretty dry and hot, but it works out in our favour, since it toughens everyone up in no time at all! And "tough" is what Corus is all about- if you're a slacker, you might want to go and sign up in one of the sissy frilly froo froo regions, since Corus will eat you up and spit you out.
So let me tell you a bit about the different places in Corus! Firstly, the biggest place here is Arcelor. That's where I'm based, and where the majority of high profile battles are held.
And don't give me any sass about how the HQ is an abandoned steel works factory, 'cause I'll smack you. This place is fantastic! We converted the whole thing into a battle academy, so anyone who is serious about taking on the league should enrol here. We got dorms, it's cool. It has huge halls for battles, and the old refineries are great obstacle courses for training.

GENERAL

We will not tolerate any form of harassment, and persistent harassment will result in removal in the group. Please do not harass the admins, and if an admin doesn't answer your question right away, understand it is because we are all busy. It should be answered in time.

All art must be drawn by yourself. We will not accept official Pokemon artwork, traces of official/existing artwork, or sprites. Altered sprites should be used only for icons, not for the application. Otherwise, sprites are only acceptable if they are done from scratch.

Hau!   (Hello!)  We are happy that you have shown an interest in our region, The Saturos Canyon.
First off, we must warn you that The Saturos Canyon is… not for the faint of heart.  Even with all the accommodations the TerranAlto Plateau (the capital of the region) is very isolated because of the geography and the immense size of the region. The climate in Saturos Canyon is hot, dry and it borders Epicent City, Cita Erbonde and Lochesh.
There are many ancient ruins in the canyon making it a haven for archeologists and researchers, and  the famous Mars Lighthouse is to the south,  near the border of Lochesh.

The climate in Saturos makes for the perfect training environment, you’ll be stronger than you ever though

Hi, everyone! Gosh, this is so weird to be talking to you all for the first time! Er... I'll just try to be brief I guess, and make sure I don't overload you guys with information, okay?
Tuh?
Say hi, Edol! ^^ This is Edolynn, my little baby ball-o-fire piggy! And I'm Kassy. Your region leader. "This region" being our beautiful, colorful Porta del Pizzicare! (or port-a-del-pit-ze-cah-ray for newcomers!)

Now, for those of you who might not know the lay of the land, I'll give you the skinny. There's three main parts to our lovely little bay: Cita Erbonde (the capital city), "the spit" (aka "that big hunk of land curling into the harbor"), and Cucciaio (my hometown!). Now unfortunately, as lovely as Cucciaio is (oh... by the way, that's pronounced "coo-kee-eye-oh") I have to letcha guys know... that city's off-limits for living on for y'alls. Sorry! Town ordinance that's been in place for seventy years...I'm trying my best to chat with the town leaders to get them to change that rule, but for now you guys'll have to live in Cita Erbonde.

Oh, big sad mess, innit? <xD Too bad you have to live here! Ha! Not! Seriously, you guys are going to LOVE the Cita. o v o It's got everything! It's got poke-centers, loads of little local restaurants and boutiques, AND most importantly, it's got three big attractions: La Theatre del Tria, the Chiesa di Iridato, and the battleground.

First, I've got to tell you about La Theatre del Tria. It's... it's my baby. This beautiful place is more than just mortar and brick, glass and paint. It's a home. It's a beautifully engineered giant, mechanical masterpiece of monstrous proportions made back in the early 1900's as a haven for all forms of art: paintings, magic, theater, chorus, opera, ballet, you name it this space has got it. It's ready for any kind of displayable show of physical, mental, and emotional prowess, including controlled battles! And I DO mean controlled. I suppose while I'm talking 'bout the theater I might as well address the rules of the house. U U

1. NO feet up on the chairs!
2. No gum, food, or beverages besides water allowed in the workspace.
3. NO touching the curtains! They're delicate, EXTREMELY expensive material and it takes an arm and a half just to get the dang things installed.
and the last and most important rule?
4. KNOW THE SUPERSTITIONS! Here's a site for your reference to know what they are. [link] Know them. Respect them.

Sorry. Got off on a tangent. <://D That was Shawn, by the way. o v o I'm supposed to technically call her my assistant, but she's been around since we were both real little. She's really really cool! You guys will get to know her more as you get involved in our region. ^^
Er..it looks like I've already used up all my time... but I... wait, what? Okay, apparently I've still got some time left. o v o I'll just wrap up quick and let you guys go, 'kay?

There's another feature of Cita Erbonde you guys should know about; the Chiesa di Iridato. It means "The Church of the rainbow-like one". It's the main feature of the city since it's where locals have worshiped the "rainbow-like one", or Ho-oh, ever since the island was discovered and settled. Considering the fact that the bay has had its fair share of hurricanes and tsunamis and this hunk of holy rock has remained standing is pretty cool, if you ask me! If you have religious leanings of any kind, you're encouraged to go here if you need a quiet place to pray/meditate/or whatever. ^^

The last feature of Cita Erbonde you guys should know about is the battleground. ` v ` (it's that roman Colosseum looking thing on the city view) It's pretty much your basic got-it-all battleground. It's got locker rooms, a snack bar, seating areas, a multi-level and multi-terrain battle ground about the size of a football field, you know. Basic stuff. If you're going to have a real scrap, don't take it to the theater, take it here! Besides, once the year's events start kicking off, you're going to have to get reeeeeal friendly with the place!

AAaaaaaaand that's it. That's all I got. o v o If you've got a thing for cities by the beach or theater or watery harbors and fishing and stuff, Cita Erbonde is the place for you! ^^ If you end up joining another faction, I wish you godspeed and hope you have a good time! BUT! for those-a you who do end up moving here, you're going to have loads of fun! >w<

Once Pepelu-Haruhara (admin of this faction) left, the Cita apps got deleted. You just need to use the basic blue app and paste in the faction badge in the "alliance" box. If you want to customize it yourself, you can adjust the colors in photoshop/gimp or add a gradient overlay. Hope this helps!

Seems like a pretty legit idea to me! You might want to consider giving her more than just one pokemon though... this is a serious competition, both this year's and next year's (should they have one)
Also, when you say "writing", do you mean throwing around concepts? Because I'm not entirely sure if you realize this, but we aren't taking written applications for the tournament.

When I say 'writing' I mean creating. I write some details down in a text file, along with some plot and comic plans. But she will have more than one on the application.
The basic idea for her character is that she's a psychic living in Cita Erbonde, having moved there from Lochesh, and she's not all there and doesn't speak much (almost never). Sometimes she'll start singing and turns to the side while she's battling, so her Pokémon kind of fight in her place when she does that.
The one she has with her is experienced in battle, so he's fine, verbal, psychically, or no orders. The other two took them some time before they got used to her staring off into space, lack of sense (a coat and shorts in summer?), and the psychic communication between she and the members.
She still seems to know how to train them, and is quite good.

...I know this idea sounds a little out there and unpractical, but that's what I have. Or at least some of it. Spoilers are not given here.

hmm...well right now the ideas seem a bit fragmented..? They're all interesting ideas! Don't get me wrong! So it'll be nice to see this character of yours when you present her, but first you need to organize all your thoughts on her (her mannerisms, her history, her mindset) into a concise and easy-to-follow method.

Mmn, being to-the-point with this kind of stuff sometimes tends to make it unclear... but that's totally fine to rant about something you're passionate about! Take one of our admins, Criticalquit, for example. If you get him started on talking about his characters, or about homestuck or one of the games he plays, he can talk until the cows come home.

The basic concept of her character is a psychic who is not as intelligently focused and in control of his emotions. She may have thought she was in control, but that much connecting power will cause some loss of control, and people usually have unintelligent moments and some element of crazy.
