7 (who?)

Greetings, contestants. I have received word from Saros' six elite trainers that, despite the ongoing weather conditions, the tournament will continue. In this time of uncertainty and fear, the tournament will be the foundation upon which our hope for the future rests. Please look to it as a beacon of normality as we do our best to find out the cause of our unusual weather activity!

This round will be an inter-faction double battle. What this means is, you will be paired with someone from another faction and face off against two trainers from the same factions. You will each be allowed to bring one Pokémon, for a total of four Pokémon participating. If you took the chance to catch a new Pokémon recently, this would be an excellent time to debut them. This round aims to test your abilities when handling an entirely new situation and skill set of a Pokémon- considering what we have planned for upcoming rounds, we think this will prepare you nicely!

The Faction pairings are as follows:

- Cita Erbonde will be paired with Ladon.

- Lochesh will be paired with Terran Alto.

- Corus will be paired with Moeras.

Contestant pairs ups have already been decided, and they can be seen here.

Contestants are asked to use their Omnidexes to find and communicate with their partners and opponents. You may choose to battle wherever you please- it does not have to be at a faction HQ!

The deadline for this round is 23th of February at 11:59pm PST. This means you have roughly one month and a half to complete this round. Good luck!

- The artists can choose where to depict their battles. Partners do NOT have to have a comic that both follow exactly the same storyline. If you wish to, however, that is perfectly fine. Please be aware that the entry that has the highest score between the partners will be considered the "canon" entry- i.e., what actually happened during the battle story-wise.

- The winning contestant plus their partner will proceed to the next round. The losing team will be cut and will not advance.

- To have your entry considered complete, you must show your character and your partner's character battling and winning against the opposing team.

- This is not a collaboration round. You must all do your own entries!

- The weather conditions are as follows:

• Lochesh - howling winds with a thick, dark fog blanketing the region

• Cita Erbonde - devastating hurricanes with major flooding

• Moeras - a terrible blizzard with freezing temperatures

• Terran Alto - dangerous dust storms

• Corus - earthquakes of varying magnitudes that are causing rifts throughout the land

• Ladon - a threatening heatwave that's causing major damage to the environment.

hmm... I had a concern as to what may or may not be considered illegal use of an extra pokemon.
My character, Catori, is able to communicate with her natu Sihu telepathically, and only her natu. However, she will not be using Sihu in the battle.

In order to avoid getting dust in her mouth (she'll be battling in TerranAlto) Catori has decided to use Sihu as a sort of medium. Simply, she would tell Sihu to command the pokemon that is actually participating in the battle. Sihu would by no means execute an attack on the other team or anywhere, but be used solely as a psychic connection between trainer and pokemon. Almost like a telephone. If this is illegal then I can figure out something different, but I wanted to make sure something like this wouldn't get me disqualified before I started drawing it.

Although I suppose simply shouting the attacks while covering her mouth with a cloth would suffice. If it had to come to that.
Thanks in advance.

Me: Might be. Giratina, Kyurem, Groudon, Entei and a few others maybe displeased, or it maybe word that Yveltal and Xzerneas maybe here.

Oh man, this round is going to be really tough TvT but before I get into more of the planning I was wondering, if the characters are planning when and where to meet, how will the officials judge it? Will they also need to call a referee or faction assistant? Or is that up to the artist...

And thank you ahead of time :thanks:

Contestants are asked to use their Omnidexes to find and communicate with their partners and opponents.

May I ask how we should be doing that? I'm kind of at a loss as to how we should have our characters contacting people they don't really know, for the first time.
Thank you!

Mirage: Your Omnidex is a direct link to your faction leaders and the propagators of this tournament. Information on your opponent is sent directly to each contestant's Omnidex, including contact information. From there, you may call, text, email, or contact your opponent however you wish.

Once the weather situation is under control, scheduled matches are likely to be set up again. At that point, the information on your match and its location will be sent to your Omnidex the same way. In that scenario, you will simply meet at the described location at the designated time.

Apologies for the confusion, darling.
